Our appointment book is computerized, which allows us to efficiently make appointments for you and your pet. Our receptionists and team will attempt to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. Emergencies are accepted anytime our clinic is open. If you feel you have an emergency with your pet, please call us or come in immediately. If possible it is best to call before coming in so that a staff member can advise you on your particular emergency.

Wellness Care

We believe in wellness care for every age & stage. Regular wellness exams allow us to create a plan that addresses the health and happiness of both you and your pet. We focus on the total well-being and care of your pet through all stages of life, and we offer a wide range of wellness services for dogs and cats. Every pet is distinct and special. Each pet’s overall health and other important factors, such as age, environment, lifestyle, and diet, are taken into consideration. From nose to tail, we create a wellness plan unique to your pet.

Vaccinations

Vaccinations are a first rate way to protect your beloved pet from serious infectious diseases and bacteria. Many immunizations and preventive treatments are available that did not exist just a few years ago. At RBVS, we always tailor your pet's vaccination schedule according to his or her needs. All decisions about vaccinations are made through consultation between you and the doctor.

Senior Companions

Thanks to advances in veterinary health care, pets are living longer and healthier lives. Preventive health care is critical for senior pets. Like humans, older pets are at an increased risk of developing diabetes, heart disease, endocrine disease, cancer and other diseases. Early detection of these diseases results in earlier treatment and better overall health for your pet. and for this reason we recommend senior pets have twice yearly exams.

Pet Dental Care

Our dental cleanings are equivalent to a periodontal cleaning for humans and are completed under general anesthesia. Pain control, safety and comfort are goals we apply to all of our dental procedures. The dental procedure consists of a complete oral exam, ultrasonic scaling and probing along the gum line, polishing with fluoride paste and accurate oral charting. Dental x-rays are frequently used to diagnose hidden problems..

Dental home care helps keep a pet’s mouth free of pain and infection, and our staff stresses the importance of daily brushing, proper diet and disease prevention.

Radiology

We are equipped with state-of-the-art digital radiology. Digital X-rays help us evaluate your pet’s musculoskeletal, cardiovascular (cardiopulmonary), gastrointestinal, reproductive, and urinary systems. The use of digital radiology decreases the stress on your pet by drastically reducing the time it takes for X-rays. We can also have all of our films read by a board-certified radiologist within 24 hours to increase our diagnostic capabilities.

Surgery

At RBVS, we are fully equipped to perform most minor and major surgical procedures, from spays, neuters, and C-sections to orthopedic and soft-tissue surgeries. In addition to having a designated anesthesia assistant monitoring your pet, we use state-of-the-art anesthetic machines and utilize a variety of monitoring devices, including Doppler blood pressure monitors, pulse oximeters, respiratory monitors, and cardiac monitoring equipment. IV fluids are vital for all surgical procedures to support the vascular system and provide an open port for rapid medication administration if needed.

Laboratory Diagnostics

Our hospital is equipped with a complete in-house laboratory that allows us to measure more than 75 laboratory values, with results often available in a few minutes. This allows your pet to receive appropriate medical treatment in a timely manner. We use laboratory testing not only to diagnose disease, but also monitor treatment progress.

In addition, we work hand in hand with several outside reference labs. Reference laboratories provide us with advanced bloodwork, such as thyroid and seizure medication levels, urine testing, and culture, cytology, and biopsy results to further maintain your pet’s health.

Pharmacy

Pet owners need easy access to medications essential for their pets. At RBVS, we are equipped with all the standard pharmaceuticals. Our pharmacy offers a wide variety of safe and effective medications and products for whatever your pet’s needs may be.

Microchipping

Each year, thousands of pets go missing, and many never make it back to their homes. Implanting a microchip in your pet is a simple way to avoid this tragedy. This procedure is as easy and painless as a vaccination.

A microchip is a tiny device, about the size and shape of a grain of rice, that is implanted under the skin between the pet’s shoulder blades. It stays there for the pet's entire life.

Each microchip has a unique number. This number, along with information about the owner and pet, is added to a national pet registry. If a lost pet is found and a microchip is detected, the registry is called and the owner can be contacted.
